Regional Service Commission's in New Brunswick

New Brunswick is divided into 12 Regional Service Commissions (RSCs), created in 2013 to strengthen regional collaboration among municipalities, rural districts, and community partners. Their role is to support shared services that better meet the needs of residents and visitors. In 2023, local governance reforms expanded the role of RSCs, strengthening their ability to support efficient public services, coordinated regional planning, and long-term community growth through greater collaboration across regions. Under provincial legislation, each Commission is required to deliver seven regional services and may support additional initiatives as approved by its Board of Directors.
